THE CHURCH at MEMPHIS, a Ministry of A Quiet Place Institute, operates as AN ASSEMBLY OF SEVENTH DAY CHRISTIANS. We are dedicated to fulfilling the Gospel's charge of preparing a company of workers to follow Christ's path.

Matthew 28:19-20 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even until the end of the world. Amen."

MISSION

The Church at Memphis, at its core, is an assembly of believers who truly believe in Christ and who confess Him as Lord and Saviors. We strive to be in continuity with the people of God in old and new testament times. We are called out from the world; and overcomers (Israel); and we join together for worship, for fellowship, for instruction in the Word, for the Spirit of Prophecy for the testimony of Jesus in the flesh, for the celebration of the Lord's Supper, for service to all mankind, and for the worldwide proclamation of the gospel.

The Church at Memphis derives its authority from Christ, who is the Word of God in the flesh, and from the scriptures, which are the written Word. We accept the adoption by God into His family as His children.

The Church at Memphis members live on the basis of the new covenant. We believe the church is the body of Christ, a family of faith of which Christ, Himself, is the head. We are the bride for whom Christ died that He might sanctify and cleanse.

REMNANT MISSION

In the last days, a time of widespread apostasy, a remnant has been called out to keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. We are charged to announce the arrival of the Judgment hour, proclaim salvation through Christ and herald the approach of His second advent. The Church at Memphis' proclamation is symbolized by the three angels of Revelation  14:6-12.

THE BODY OF CHRIST

The Church at Memphis accepts that the Church is one body with many members, called from every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. We are all one in Christ Jesus (John 3:16, Gal. 3:28). In Christ, we are a new creation; distinctions of race, culture, learning and nationality and differences between high and low, rich and poor, male and female, must not be divisive among us. We are equal in Christ who by one spirit has bonded us into one fellowship with Him and with one another; we are to serve and be served without partiality or reservation. Through the revelation of Jesus Christ in the Scriptures, we share the same faith and hope, and reach out in one witness to all.

KEEPING THE SABBATH

The creator, after six days of creation, rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath for all people as a memorial of creation. The fourth commandment of God's unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day Sabbath as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath. The Sabbath is God's perpetual sign of His eternal covenant between Him and His people. The observance of this holy time is from evening to evening, sunset to sunset, since the garden of Eden. (Gen. 2:1-3; Ex. 20:8-11; Matt. 12:1-2; Heb. 4:1-11)

THE HOLY BIBLE

We trust entirely that the Bible is the testimony of Jesus Christ. Christ is not divided, therefore both Old and New Testament testify of Jesus. "Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine?...For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little." "And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets." Isa. 28:9-10 and 1 Cor. 14:32. Therefore, we believe the spirit that inspired Moses is the same spirit that inspired Paul, and Peter and all the prophets and apostles. They all "Testify of Me", Jesus said. John 5:39. We accept that the Bible then, is the testimony of Jesus Christ, from Genesis to Revelation.
